A Contrarian’s Approach to Innovation Krisztina Holly , Vice Provost for Innovation and Executive Director for the USC Stevens Institute for Innovation
Krisztina Holly spearheads the development of programs to help faculty and students maximize the impact of their ideas. USC Stevens, a university-wide institute in the Office of the Provost, harnesses the creative thinking and innovative work at the USC College’s 17 professional schools and research programs to build a multi-disciplinary approach to innovation. Krisztina Holly bring to USC her experience as an engineer and serial entrepreneur. Previously, she was the founding executive director of MIT’s Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation, where she oversaw the distribution of $5 million in grants, engaged more than 250 faculty and students, and spawned nine startup companies that successfully raised $40 million in capital. |

Building a Business School in a Turbulent Time James G. Ellis , Dean, USC Marshall School of Business, Professor of Marketing
James Ellis will emphasize how the Marshall School, a premier business school, continues to explore ways to train leaders who will build a better world in which we all can live and prosper. Topics will include ethics, community service, corporate governance, sustainability and the environment and the use of business tools and approaches to cure societal ills. Prior to being appointed Dean, James Ellis was the Vice Provost, Globalization for the University, responsible for building the USC name worldwide. He also served the Marshall School of Business as the Vice Dean, External Relations, as well as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. In 2004, he was given the “Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award” from the USC Parents’ Association. Click here to purchase tickets. The USC Alumni Club of Newport/Irvine is hosting an Open House Social Mixer - MONDAY MARCH 9th @ 6pm at the fabulous Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza.
The head chef will be preparing specialty appetizers just for our event and the bar will be preparing a USC Trojans signature cocktail!!! Come to sip, nibble, chat & discover the USC Alumni Group of Newport and Irvine.
Our Club is responsible for social connections, business networking and general USC related fun. We also strive to raise money for scholarships benefiting local students.

The fee per passenger for the Rose Bowl game bus has increased to $67. This is largely due to the premium fees charged by the bus company for the holiday season and an additional $250 parking fee charged by the Rose Bowl Committee for each bus.
